Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.
